This lantern is an exact copy of an original lantern (circa 1800) that was made for the main staircase at Culford School, Bury St. Edmonds. Wilkinson's first copied this lantern for a staircase of another Suffolk property, also by the celebrated architect James Wyatt (1746-1813).
